Blockchain technology develops rapidly, and so too does the fiat-crypto payment sector. This year, we have stayed ahead of the competition with new features and capabilities for our On & Off Ramps, NFT Checkout, and in June we launched our highly popular Crypto Card for Web3 businesses.
Take a look at the progress we made in the first half of the year, as we work towards realising the plans we laid out in December’s Alchemy Pay Roadmap 2023. All new capabilities will give additional functionality to our forthcoming app, which aims to bring together all of our services for everyday individuals.
Google Pay & Apple Pay
While Alchemy Pay’s on-ramp and NFT checkout had already been supporting Visa and Mastercard for crypto purchases in 173 countries, there was still room for improvement! We followed up by adding support for both Google Pay and Apple Pay. Across the world, mobile wallets are gaining payment market share year on year. Apple Pay takes a significant portion of that mobile wallet market, Apple Pay has the largest transaction volume of any mobile payment service. Apple Pay is built into all Apple devices and Google Pay is available on almost all devices so there are no complicated processes for users.
These methods are supported in the following currencies: USD, EUR, KRW, SGD, AUD, TWD, TRY, CAD, JPY, AED, NZD, HKD. Non-US users may also pay with USD.
Discover & Diners Club Cards
This year, Alchemy Pay began supporting Discover and Diners Club cards for convenient crypto purchases using fiat funds. The integration of Discover and Diners Club with Alchemy Pay’s global ramp will enable card holders to purchase crypto from many regions inside and outside the USA. Discover card and Diner clubs Card are one of the six major international card issuing networks and the third largest credit card brand in the U.S., just behind Visa and Mastercard, with 280+ million global cardholders.
Local Payment Channels
Alchemy Pay has always focused on enabling people all around the world to use local payment methods wherever possible. Local fiat mobile wallets and bank transfers provide users with cheaper ways to purchase digital assets and with a much higher transaction success rate. This year, we have added support for local payment channels all around the world.
Of all the new additions, the news that we now have UPI and IMPS in India supported on our on-ramp was perhaps the most exciting. Super low transaction fees and high success rates have made a huge impact for clients and partners focused on one of the world’s biggest markets. Bank transfers in Argentina and Turkey – regions where stablecoins are proving to be an escape from record inflation are now also accepted on our ramp.

Crypto Card
In June, Alchemy Pay is now offering crypto virtual card solutions for businesses to issue their own branded Mastercard crypto virtual card and develop customised crypto card programs for their users. Through Alchemy Pay’s modular API, businesses can leverage its advanced payment infrastructure to offer a fast, secure and convenient payment experience for their users. This solution enables users to make payments online and offline using their cryptocurrencies, eliminating the need for cash or physical cards.
To put it simply, businesses can obtain customised virtual card services through Alchemy Pay. By partnering with Alchemy Pay, they have the flexibility to launch and customise crypto cards under their own brand, while leaving the complex bank acceptance processes in the capable hands of Alchemy Pay. Additionally, Alchemy Pay offers personalised token recharge options, empowering their users to spend designated tokens that align with projects’ specific requirements.
